Harajuku Quest building on Omotesando with Nike flagship store

Art & Music Pop-Up Party @Harajuku Quest / THE HALL – Tokyo

I recently checked out a trending spot at Harajuku Quest.

Apparently, the building on Omotesando — the one with the Nike flagship store — has recently been renovated.

And with that, a new event space has opened up in the basement.

Is this the place?

As I walked down the stairs leading underground, a sign that looked like a parody of a retro coffee shop caught my eye.

As soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted by the artist’s work.

The series is called “Tranthrow.”

According to the description, the artist collected light data around Harajuku Quest as well as in their hometown of Kagoshima, using sensors to capture different types of light — including visible light, infrared, and ultraviolet.

That data is then transformed into visual imagery.

The works are printed on aluminum honeycomb panels, a material also used in satellites.

Further inside is THE TUNNEL.

The main space, THE HALL, is connected to THE TUNNEL — a neighboring restaurant — allowing people to move freely between the two.

It felt like a futuristic food court, where your order is announced when it’s ready.

Just a heads up — it’s completely cashless.

Cards are accepted, but cash isn’t.

I ordered a tea-based drink, and was surprised to see they actually brewed it properly using real tea leaves.

You can tell they put some effort into it.

There are various types of seating available, and you’re free to use them however you like.

There was even an LED-lit indoor garden — probably growing lettuce.

It’s a space where underground elements blend nicely into a more public setting, making it approachable even if you’re not usually into that kind of scene.

You can casually stop by, enjoy the exhibition as background ambience, and have a light drink with friends.

It feels like the perfect way to experience it.

I’m curious to see what kind of events they’ll host next — I’ll definitely be back.
