Sunday Cycling at Baji-koen/Tokyo

I’ve passed by the area a few times, but Baji-koen is still uncharted territory for me.

Located roughly halfway between Sakurashinmachi and Chitose-Funabashi stations, this vast park is operated by the JRA — about the size of four Tokyo Domes.

One Sunday, I decided to stop by for a cycling trip.

Nearby, there’s Tokyo University of Agriculture.

Children running around barefoot.

Being a bit far from the station, it’s not too crowded and has a really comfortable vibe.
It seems like a perfect spot to bring a bento for a picnic.

In the back, there’s even a treehouse or two.
It might be a hidden gem compared to the always-packed Forest Adventure.

As you’d expect from a park run by the JRA (Japan Racing Association), the lawns and restrooms are impeccably clean.

Riding course

I used to think only celebrities went to horseback riding clubs here,
but it seems that anyone can try riding lessons.

Just learned something new —
Baji-koen had been closed for renovations for seven years since 2017,
and finally reopened in November 2023.
No wonder everything is so beautifully maintained!

Definitely a hidden chill spot.
